Bunbury Geographe Economic Growth Plan
In 2016, the Bunbury Geographe Growth Plan was published. The report which was facilitated by BGEA, in partnership with local and State Government and funded through a Royalties for Region grant, sought to bring Government, industry and the community together to design a roadmap for creating wealth, employment and prosperity for the Region.
The Vision
“by 2050 Bunbury Geographe will be a diversified, creative, vibrant and connected Region, internationally recognised for its quality of life and environmental sustainability; a good place to do business”
The report was supported by a range of technical studies, critically evaluating the Regions strengths and opportunities with the input of the community. It culminated in four separate volumes;
Part 1: A Strategy to guide future growth
Part 2: A Program of Action focussed on Priority Initiatives
Part 3: A background report summarising the work which has been undertaken
Part 4: A Prospectus highlighting investment opportunities in Bunbury Geographe.
Whilst the report was prepared over 10 years ago, some of the projects have been delivered, others have been shelved, and new technology is influencing global growth – much of the report remains relevant today and can still be used to guide future opportunities for the Region.
