StudentConnect is a regional initiative designed to strengthen the connection between young people, local industry and education providers. Developed by BGEA, the platform makes it easier for students to explore career pathways, gain real‑world experience, and build confidence as they transition into the workforce. By bringing schools and businesses together in one streamlined system, StudentConnect supports meaningful engagement and helps our region grow its future talent.

StudentConnect currently works with VET coordinators and industry hosts to coordinate work experience, placements, traineeships and apprenticeships. As the program evolves, we are expanding access to students to create a more dynamic, student‑driven experience. This next phase will empower young people to express interest in industries, browse opportunities, and connect directly with hosts who are ready to support them.

For businesses, StudentConnect offers a simple, guided way to engage with local schools and contribute to workforce development. Hosts can showcase their industry through tours, offer placements, and help shape the next generation of skilled workers. For schools, the platform reduces administrative load and provides a clear, centralised system for managing student pathways.
