SW Asset Reliability & Maintenance (SWARM) Forum

Sw Asset Reliability &Amp; Maintenance (Swarm) Forum 1

The Bunbury Geographe Economic Alliance hosted another successful SW Asset and Reliability Maintenance (SWARM) Forum on Thursday, 15 October, bringing together professionals from across the South West working in asset reliability, maintenance and production.

The Forum opened with Prof. Matt Carnie from Edith Cowan University, who shared a short survey on the engineering degree currently being explored for delivery in the South West. This initiative represents an exciting step toward strengthening the region’s future engineering workforce and expanding local study pathways.

Attendees then heard from three expert presenters following an introduction from BGEA CEO, Brant Edwards. We were fortunate to have Thomas Herdahl‑Thorsing travel from Denmark to join us, complete with a showcasing C.C Jensen’s filtration technology. Juston Saetang, Reliability Engineer at RCR Mining Technologies, shared insights from developing a unique OEM audit tool and the outcomes achieved. Roddey McDonald, Founder of Heroes of Impact Hub, explored how human knowledge can be leveraged to strengthen organisational capacity.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with presenters, deepen discussion and share practical knowledge across industry.

BGEA extends its thanks to all presenters for their contributions, and to the Rose Hotel for providing an excellent venue and a welcoming space for learning, conversation and networking.

Planning is already underway for the next SWARM Forum in the second quarter of 2027, with BGEA looking forward to continuing to support capability development and collaboration across the region’s maintenance and reliability community.
